When the brother is needled by the Corpo

The Sunday Independent

The triumph of Mícheál Ó Núalláin, in forcing Dublin Corporation to submit its Millennium Spire to an Environmental Impact Study (EIS), might best be summarised as a case of `the return of the brother'.

If Dublin Corporation had checked Ó Núalláin's CV, they might have been more wary about the letters of complaint being sent in by the 71-year-old retired school inspector and artist. Outside of being the brother of Ireland's finest comic writer, Flann O'Brien who once christened another architectural excrescence of Dublin ``the tomb of the unknown gurrier'' Ó Núalláin is a substantial figure in his own right.
