High rise buildings would have an overwhelming adverse impact on the capital, a senior Bord Pleanala inspector has said. Karl Kent said policy must reflect the reality that Dublin had a small, relatively low rise historic centre of immense cultural and economic value.
Mr Kent's comments are contained in a 90-page report on the Bord Pleanala inquiry into the appeal against planning permission granted by Dublin Corporation for a proposed giant glass skyscraper plan for George's Quay opposite the Customs House at Dublin's southside quays.
