Skyscraper probe told of cost and height concerns

The Irish Independent

Opening the inquiry inspector Des Johnson of Bord Pleanala outlined the nature of the development and the decision to grant full permission for the first phase and outline approval for a phased development subject to conditions. Dublin Corporation scaled down the original proposal which included buildings as high as 22 storeys and imposed a maximum height of 13 storeys, which is similar in height to Liberty Hall. Grounds for third party appeals related to the visual impact on views, excessive height, scale density, legitimacy of the planning decision, traffic, parking, lack of social housing, contaminated soil, loss of residential amenities, lack of community consultation, and contravention of the Docklands Master Plan.
