OPW gets building on Green for £20m

The Irish Independent

The Office of Public Works (OPW) has acquired a Georgian office building at No 52 St Stephen's Green, Dublin for 20.3m. The OPW is now planning to construct a matching in-fill building integrating Nos 51-52 St Stephen's Green. No 51 St Stephen's Green is Grade 2 and No 52 St Stephen's Green is listed Grade1. 'The front façade will match exactly the detailing of No 52, including windows, cornice and brickwork. The new addition will provide a new and more convenient disabled access to the offices of Nos 51 and 52 St Stephen's Green. It will also allow for ease and movement between the two buildings. The existing architectural character of the buildings at Nos 51 and 52 St Stephen's Green will not be affected in any significant way.'
