Centre is 'wrong' for capital - Desmond
Leading businessman Dermot Desmond described the proposed Spencer Dock development as 'unsuitable, unattractive and wrong' for Dublin city, at the Bord Pleanala inquiry yesterday. He predicted the plan, which includes a National Conference Centre, would 'blight' the Dockland's development to the detriment of Dublin and its people. 'It is transferring a bit of Manhattan to Dublin, but Dublin is not Manhattan,' he said.
