An Bord Pleanala upheld Clare Co Council's decision to refuse planning permission to plans by Duchas, the heritage and wildlife service, to develop the proposed visitors' centre at Mullaghmore. Groups fighting to save the environment were last night celebrating a victory in the nine-year battle with An Taisce stating that the decision reinforces the principles of sustainable development and the imperative of conserving important habitats.
