The Government is to spend Ł7 million on saving the 18th century Irish College in central Paris. The restoration of the college, situated on an acre of land behind the Pantheon in the Latin Quarter, will begin in October, The last surviving pre-Revolution college of the University of Paris, it was designed by a royal architect from the court of Louis XVI.
