The pattern of traffic flow in Dublin city centre could change dramatically if the proposed Macken Street bridge goes ahead as planned. Dublin Corporation envisages construction starting early in 2001 and hopes the new bridge will be open to the public by late 2002. The EIS sets out the huge traffic flow increases in the Portland Row and Pearse Street areas, the approach routes to the bridge.
