New RTE building wins top CIF award

The new Programmes building in RTE has won the commercial category in the CIF Construction Excellence Awards 2000. The industrial award winner was the Xerox Technology Park at Dundalk in Co Louth. The RTE building was constructed by Michael McNamara & Co. This 10,000 sq m building forms the latest phase of the RTE campus and retains the simple 6 metre orthogonal grid established in the master plan by Scott Tallon Walker in the early 1960s, but follows the latest technology to provide the optimum workplace.
