The Ł3m 'Spike' in Dublin's O'Connell Street, dogged by controversy and delay, has finally been given the go-ahead by Environment Minister Noel Dempsey. The green light follows a court battle over the capital's flagship architectural project which will form the centrepiece of a Ł40m rejuvenation of O'Connell Street.
