Taoiseach Bertie Ahern last night appeared likely to veto a plan to build a new Ł100m Abbey Theatre in Dublin's south docklands, saying it would be a "serious mistake". The board of the National Theatre yesterday recommended the docklands move, but in the strongest language he has used on any issue in some time, Mr Ahern angrily accused its members of a u-turn after they had lobbied him personally for funds to build on the current site.
