The Happy Ring House sign above McDowell's Jewellers on O'Connell Street is probably the longest-surviving neon sign in Dublin, and certainly occupies one of the most prominent positions, on the main street of the republic. It is also one of the largest such pieces, covering almost the entire façade of the building above the ground floor. At the apex of the sign, a diamond ring sparkles on and off. Below, wedding bells tied in a blue bow flash in sequence, as if they are swinging. The happy couple are arm in arm beneath, flanked by lucky horseshoes, the groom holding a top hat, the bride a bouquet of flowers.
