Dramatic design for down town Dublin station

The Irish Independent

A new £50m redevelopment blueprint has been prepared by Iarnrod Eireann for Tara St railway station in Dublin city centre. The dramatic new design will feature a fifteen storey glazed tower block. This angular style building will be set into a stone clad "bookend" plinth with major improvements in the main concourse area. Tara St Station is the busiest station in the entire Iarnrod network, handling 25,000 passengers per day or 7m annually. Since the introduction of the DART system, there has been steady and sustained growth in passenger numbers over the intervening years.
