£48m aquatic centre set for a big splash at Bertie Bowl
A firm of international architects has been given the go-ahead to design the National Irish Aquatic Centre at Abbotstown, Co Dublin. The scheme estimated to cost £48.4m will be the first part of the controversial national stadium, known as the Bertie Bowl after the Taoiseach. It is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2003 Special Olympic World Games.
