Private developers have been warned they must get moving on the redevelopment of Dublin's O'Connell Street or risk losing millions in tax breaks, writes Aideen Sheehan. If serious construction work on the street does not get underway by the end of next year, developers will lose out on the 100pc tax breaks offered as part of the O'Connell St Integrated Area Plan, Cllr Joe Costello (Lab) told them last night. Dublin Corporation's monitoring committee for the scheme called a crunch meeting of the 10 consortia and site owners who have submitted plans to redevelop the area, including Irish Life and the Carlton Group.
