Ballymun Regeneration applies to demolish flats

An application to begin the regeneration of the Ballymun housing complex is being considered by Dublin City Council. Mc Donagh and Pearse, two of the 15-storey Ballymun towers, along with seven smaller blocks, will be demolished if a planning application by Ballymun Regeneration Ltd is successful. While these demolitions represent only the tip of the iceberg - there are 36 blocks in total, including seven towers - they will kick-start the first phase of regeneration.
