Taoiseach Bertie Ahern cannot say he likes - or dislikes - the controversial Spike monument for Dublin's O'Connell St which is costing Euro4m of taxpayers' money. As work got under way yesterday on the Nelson's Pillar replacement, the Taoiseach refused to nail his colours to the needle-like monument and said it was "hard to visualise".
