Plan to demolish Fade Street red brick refused by An Bord Pleanala
An Bord Pleanála has refused Portersgate Ltd permission to demolish 4-6 Fade Street, Dublin 2, and build a modern five-storey office and retail block in its place. Green Party councillor Ciaran Cuffe, who lives on the street, appealed Dublin City Council's decision to allow the project subject to conditions. Cuffe submitted that the proposed office block would be higher than other buildings on Fade Street and was more in line with the modern streetscape of Drury Street than the Victorian character of Fade Street.
