New Tallaght housing plan 'will add to strain'

Plans by South Dublin County Council to build a high density local authority housing estate at Fortunestown Lane in West Tallaght will add to social deprivation and put further strain on an area with "tremendous infrastructure problems", according to Declan Poynton, Chairperson of the Sundale/Suncroft/Mountain View Resident's Association. The association says it is not against housing but is campaigning against the scheme, known as Fortunestown B, because it says it makes no provision for much-needed facilities in the area.
