After 16 agonising drawings, the right design fell into place

Architect Stephen Oppermann and his wife Carol moved into the house he designed just a month after their son Conrad was born. Great things are expected when an architect designs their own home. Getting his house right was "an agony" for commercial architect Stephen Oppermann, who went through at least 16 drawings before the right design was decided.

The Arts Council
