Famous architects are best known for their houses - but why not here?

The Irish Times

The world's top architects are often most famous for their houses. So why is it so hard to find - and keep - an Irish architect who will create a bespoke home? Think of the great architects of the 20th century - they include Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, Gerrit Rietveld and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Name their famous buildings: The Hill House by Mackintosh, Reitveld's Schroder House, Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye, Wright's Fallingwater and Farnsworth by Mies. They're all houses.
