Workmen unearth 300-year-old house in O'Connell Street

A 300 year old house has been discovered buried in the middle of Dublin's O'Connell Street, the Irish Independent has learned. The ruins of a substantial house believed to date back to the 17th century was unearthed during excavation works for the Luas light rail project. The exciting archaeological discovery was made during a dig in the middle of the street at lunchtime yesterday.
