New rules will cut home heat losses

The Irish Times

Now in Ireland, draughty old homes and thin-walled new builds will soon be assigned to heat loss heaven. The latest Buildings Regulations from the Department of Environment and Local Government will require us to cut heat loss from walls, roofs and windows through increased insulation and by incorporating components that prevent cold bridging. Known as the new Part L, all domestic buildings started since January will have to comply.
