Dermot Desmond's Illium Properties Ltd has lost a first-party appeal to An Bord Pleanála to continue carrying out works at 71 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, formerly the home of the late fashion designer Sybil Connolly. The company sought to complete a dumb waiter and the installation of an electrical riser, running from the basement to the third floor at the back of the house, but was refused planning permission by Dublin City Council.
