It's the slowest striptease Dubliners have ever seen, but the Spire was finally revealed in all its glory yesterday. The €5m monument was released from the "wrapping" which had covered up the bottom 12 metres since it went up in January. But fears that the ornate base of the 120 metre design may have got dirty from the winter weather, which has now taken a turn for the better, proved groundless.
