A Dublin barrister has completed the magnificent restoration of 15 Usher's Island, the house on the Quays where James Joyce set his most famous story The Dead. Last Thursday evening saw the opening of the first art exhibition at 15 Usher's Island. The artist, Gary Daly, is a talented young Irish painter who seems destined for great things. This new gallery at Usher's Island is certainly interesting; over the coming year it will play host to Picasso, Matisse and Cezanne. But great art is only part of the story of this remarkable house.
