Plans for a state-of-the-art residential and commercial development at Teeling Street have been scuppered following a decision by Sligo Borough Council to include the façade of Teeling House as a protected structure in the City and Environs Development Plan. The €3 million project would have involved the demolition of Teeling House and the construction of a modern residential and commercial complex. But the ambitious plan will now have to be scrapped following a decision by the Borough Council at a meeting on Monday night. The proposed development was designed by Glasgow firm, Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop Architects.
