Historic buildings get funds boost as they join world 'under threat' list

The Irish Independent

Two Irish locations have been added to a list of the world's 100 most under-threat sites. The move should see funding for restoration going to a 12th century abbey in Co Tipperary and a Co Meath Georgian mansion. Athassel Abbey and Headfort House, in Kells, have both been included on the 2004 Watch List of 100 Most Endangered Sites, drawn up for the New York-based World Monument Fund.
