The country's most famous seat of learning is to build a state-of-the-art gym and swimming pool in its grounds in Dublin city centre. Trinity College, Dublin, hopes to have a planning decision on its application for the new facilities within the next couple of weeks. The public procurement process for the swimming pool has already begun, and subject to no planning appeal the university hopes to start the works in April with a target completion date of December 2005.
