The Stephen's Green Club has won its appeal to An Bord Pleanála to remove a condition of planning permission for a much needed revamp. While Dublin City Council granted permission for the refurbishment of 9 St Stephen's Green, a protected building with fine Georgian interiors, it imposed a condition which the club thought was unacceptable. The club is looking to erect a new fire escape and lift in the space between numbers 9 and 10 St Stephen's Green necessitating the removal of a portion of the roof of the single-storey cochčre or entrance hall and the gentleman's cloakroom and toilet on the ground floor and the provision of new toilets.
