The Heuston Station area of the city and its environs has been earmarked to provide a fresh counterpoint to Dublin's dockland development area. A €60m raised urban space directly behind the station is on the drawing board to accommodate firms aimed at establishing new offices and mixed-use development on the western approaches to the city. Extensive works have already been completed at the front of Heuston Station. To facilitate Luas, further major enhancement plans are now also in the pipeline with the aim of maximising the area as a key transport node.
