The OPUS Building of the Year Awards are being expanded this year to acknowledge construction skills in addition to the quality of the architecture. The prestigious annual competition has been renamed the Opus Architecture & Construction Awards. The inclusion of CIF nominees in the panel of assessors along with architects and a structural engineers, reflects the spirit of this fresh initiative. "The judging criteria will be exacting and rigorously applied, with particular emphasis on aesthetic design, build quality, functionality and sustainability," a new promotional brochure states.
