Dublin City Council is asking developers to come forward with proposals for 700 new homes worth €150m in Inchicore, Dublin 8, over looking the Grand Canal. About 480 of the homes will be private, 70 affordable and 150 social. While most of the private homes will be apartments as many as 30 of the social units will be houses. All will be built on a 14-acre brownfield site at St Michael's Estate which is currently being detenanted and demolished. The estate has been troubled by anti-social behaviour and drug addicts in recent years.
