Falls Leisure Centre

Architects: Kennedy FitzGerald & Associates
Even ignoring the history and context, this is a building that sets new standards for leisure centres. Sport is recognised as a good way to promote health, build social capital and encourage social integration. The Falls Leisure Centre does all of this and looks set to be a regenerative flywheel in a location that has much need of such help.

Kinnaird Street Office

Architects: Mackel & Doherty Architects
The houses across the street were scheduled for demolition, and it seems likely the same would have happened to the whole street had the architect relocated. Instead, leading by example, their project has inspired the Belfast Housing Executive to change policy and renovate the existing houses.
