Fingal amenity 'half size of Phoenix Park'

The Sunday Business Post

A massive public park, up to half the size of Phoenix Park, is being planned for north-west Dublin. Fingal County Council has launched a study into the future of lands bounded by the M50, the N2 Dublin-Derry road, and the Cappagh Road, and a new park looks set to forma major part of the plan. The entire landholding is nearly half the size of the Phoenix Park, which at more than 1,700 acres, is the largest urban park in Europe. Much of the land in the area is in public ownership. The local authority is seeking submissions about the future of the site, which includes the former Dunsink landfill and part of the Tolka Valley.
