Rising headquarters in Moore St to be protected

The Irish Times

Councillors in Dublin voted unanimously last night to protect 16 Moore Street, the last headquarters of the 1916 Rising leaders, and three adjoining houses on the street. The vote was taken following the presentation of a report by architects Shaffrey and Associates and urban historian John Montague. Commissioned by Dublin City Council, it recommended that the building be put on the Record of Protected Structures for its connection to the Easter Rising and for its architectural merits. A number of councillors had campaigned to save the building which had fallen into disrepair.
