Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is actively pursuing the regeneration of Dun Laoghaire and in support of its vision for the future is not only encouraging private investment but is itself investing in improved public facilities. Accordingly the County Council organised an international architectural competition for the development and implementation of a new Central Library Complex for the county that will incorporate a Central Library, a Library Headquarters and Cultural Centre. The competition was an open, two-stage architectural competition for design proposal from architect-led teams incorporating architectural, engineering, quantity surveying and associated services.
