2001
This was one of the finalists for the O'Connell Street (kiosk) street furniture competition.
The kiosks were unified by a bronze frame, limestone, curved limestone volumes and patinated copper roofs.
The bronze and copper responds to the architectonic tradition of O'Connell Street buildings.
The limestone responds to a more abstract notion of An Dubh Linn, the black pool. The resultant stone columns are constructed like fissured columns, emerging from the ground.
The units are modular which allows a wide variety of configurations.
