The aim of our project was to build a dynamic space capable of integrating residential needs, entertainment and business activity. It was therefore clear that we should avoid the sort of space divided into layers but should on the contrary create a strong connection among the four different levels (floors). We thought that a pedestrian crossing could be a solution : a sloping square that goes from the ground floor right to the second floor. This raised space is also protected by the lower building thus becoming an inviting halting place, southwards, a place that overlooks the canal.

The slim block is almost entirely made of glass, with the exception of the northern side. All apartments have balconies southwards protected by a brise soleil . From a distance this work vaguely brings to mind a ship drifting in the water.

Destination of use
Floor -1 will be used as a parking lot.
The first 4 floors make up the base of the building and are connected through a square, flight of stairs and elevator that can be passed through in an open space. This will allow a total integration of the various functions during the whole day.
A flight of stairs on the western side goes to the underground level. The parking places reserved to the U2 have been placed next to the reserved elevator.
On the ground floor and below the sloping square there is the coffee shop in the lowest part and the discotheque in the highest part (northward). The two levels have been connected by an internal stairway.
The level of the square goes from height 00 to about +6,00 ml.
In the middle part there will be space for small retail activities. From the highest level ( +6,00) one can reach the restaurant at level +9,00 and the other office levels by escalator.
The entrance to the residential area is placed on the western side, with a special entrance reserved for the U2. The residential levels are from 5 to 15.
